WP1: Project

This WP focusses on planning, monitoring and coordinating the project activities to ensure that project goals and requirements are successfully met. Technical and scientific supervision are provided, and contingency plans to address potential risks. Moreover, this WP includes the administrative and financial management of the project, to ensure fulfilment of the financial tasks.

• Manage, monitor and coordinate project’s activities and outcomes

• Guarantee smooth interaction between Steering Committee, WP leaders and the European Commission to ensure implementation of agreed tasks

WP2: Expert Forum

This WP will focusses on the constitution of an the Expert Forum. The Steering CommitteeProject Coordinators will define objectives, structure and operational guidelines for the Statute of the Forum. An open call will behas been already launched, and selected Experts will be engaged to constitute the Forum of Expert. Moreover, relevant stakeholders will be identified and contacted to collaborate with the project.

OBJECTIVES

• Define the Statute of the Forum

• Constitute the Expert Forum by means of an open call for Experts, and prepare all the organisational infrastructure to let the Forum be operative.

WP3: Guidelines

This WP will focusses on drafting EU-wide guidelines on the technical standards and oversight requirements to be adopted by entities and establishments handling human milk. First step will include review of current evidence and in-depth analysis of existing guidelines, both at national and international levels. Dedicated surveys will be conducted to gather on-field data. Once these data will be are collected, the Expert Forum will start drafting guidelines on the technical standards to be adopted by entities and establishments handling human milk. Moreover, the Expert Forum will focusr on current national and international oversight recommendations and the new SoHO regulation, to develop guidelines on oversight requirements to be met by DHM entities and establishments, which will be used as reference by competent authorities. Feedbacks and insights by relevant stakeholders will be gathered, and guidelines finalised.

WP4: Implementation Plan

This WP will focusses on identifying, analysing and addressing gaps and practices in HMB which diverge from EU guidelines. After this analysis, an implementation plan with recommended actions will be defined and shared with DHM entities and establishements, and with competent authorities. Secondly, a post-project strategy will be outlined, to guarantee future updates of the guidelines and ongoing operativity of the Expert Forum. Finally, a quali-quantitativce assessment of the outcomes of the project will be performed.

OBJECTIVES

• Perform a gap analysis (current procedures versus compliant procedures), and define an implementation plan with recommended actions directed to human milk establishment to support them in achieving compliance with EU guidelines

• Define a post-project strategy for future updating of guidelines and to maintain the Expert Forum operative

• Perform an impact evaluation of the project

WP5: Training

This WP will focusses on designing a comprehensive training programme. We will identify key stakeholders’ categories which will be targeted by the training actionsprogramme, and design the most suitable training tools for each of the targeted groups. The training topics will be prioritised to ensure that procedures most impacting on safety and compliance are duly covered.

WP6: Dissemination & Communication

This WP will focusses on designing and implementing a dissemination and communication plan. We will identify kKey stakeholders’ categories which will be targeted by the dissemination programme, and choose the most suitable tools will be selected for to reach each of the targeted groups. A scientific publication plan will be defined, to ensure dissemination of project results through open access journals. Dissemination events directed to targeted stakeholders will be organizedorganised.
